I was born and raised in the City of Little Rock, Arkansas in the year of 1957 to the proud parents of Vera and Louis James Foster. Born the sixth out of seven children, I was the quite type, and labeled by some, the "black sheep" of the family. As a little boy I didn't get into much, and pretty much kept to myself. I was extremely gifted with artistic ability as a young boy. I was drawing super heroes out of comic books before I could even write my name. I won several art contests because of my artistic ability and later received an art scholarship to go to the University of Kansas. I finished High School at Little Rock Central High, and have plans to go to college to get my degree later on.
My life took a turn for the worst after High School with the death of two men that were nothing short of being a father to me. I got into heavy drinking, drugs, gambling, and nightclub living. The lowest point in my life was when I was out on the street with nowhere to stay but cold park benches and old broken down trucks in the dead of the winter. I had all but drunken myself into an early grave when I sense the spirit of death, and cried out to the Lord in my despair. And oh thank God He heard me!
I was saved in June of 1980 under the ministry of Pastor L.A. Lindsey Sr., Pastor of the then "Faith Temple Missionary Baptist Church" (presently, Greater Faith Temple Full Gospel Deliverance Center). I grew and excelled in the Lord as I served faithfully under my pastor. I was delivered from alcohol, drugs, nicotine, and filled with the Holy Ghost within my first year of salvation. I was called into the gospel ministry within my ninth to eleventh month of salvation. I served faithfully under my pastor and traveled and performed evangelistic work with a couple of evangelist until I move out to run my own meetings.
The beginning of my ministry started with a great desire to win the lost. While working on my secular job, I had this overwhelming desire to minister to my co-workers but could never get the chance because I was in and out a lot because of driving a truck. In desperation I cried out to the Lord for a way to minister to them, and He responded by putting it into my heart to write little tracts (which later I named "Tracts of Life") with my testimony in them. The very first one I wrote was "Religiously Saved or Truly Saved Which One are You?" This has become one of my most popular teachings and writings to this date with many getting saved through this powerful tract of my testimony and salvation. Little did I know that this was the beginning of what would be the main thrust of my ministry (the printed page). Since then, I have written many tracts, and have started on several books. We also started sending out a monthly Newsletter with great teachings that begin to open doors around the City, State, and Nation. Read some of my writings online by clicking here.
It wasn't long afterwards the Radio Broadcast started and developed into one of the most popular broadcast in the City. Not long after that the Lord directed us to start our own church (Son of God Christian Center) in September of 1989, which continues until this day. We've had our ups and downs growing to an hundred or more members and moving into two small buildings and eventually a nice church building with two daycare centers.
I married the most wonderful woman on the earth September 5th 1997. Between us we have two wonderful sons and daughter. She has a very beautiful voice and we both minister together in ministry from time to time. She currently leads our praise services at each church service. I am presently looking to take on another pastorate and relocate the ministry. I strongly believe that the Lord has spoken to my heart that the work in this area has ceased, and that it is time to move on to the next phase of the ministry, which will not be in this area. Because of the many struggles that we have had to endure our entire life, and great personal relationship with the Lord; we are more then ready to take on the challenge of breaking new ground in a different part of the harvest field.
Proverbs 18:22 says, "Whoso findeth a wife findeth a good thing and obtaineth favor of the Lord."
I want to introduce you to my "good thing."
There's an old saying, "Behind every good man stands a good woman." If I am judged to be good at all, it's because of this great woman of God He has placed by my side. I am so thankful to God for blessing me with such a wonderful Wife, Mother, Lover, and Friend. This is the woman I am madly in love with and I truly can't say enough about her. One definite thing for sure is, she always manage to bring the best out of me. I've told her many times over and I'll now tell you, she is the type of woman men dream of marrying. For me to truly say all that she is and does for me would take more than just one web page, and that is no exaggeration.
Sister Jennifer comes from a traditionally rich family in the Lord. She was practically raised in those old time holiness churches. As of this time she's not one to teach and preach very much, but when she does cut loose, she can rock the house. She has a great ministry of exhortation, praise and worship, and a very high standard for woman of excellence. She makes it her personal ministry to see that I am burden with no more then that of the ministry. She is definitely a Proverbs 31 (virtuous) woman and I truly believe she is a woman's woman.
Words From The First Lady... Hello and welcome to our site! I'm Jennifer Foster and I bring you greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. My husband and I are very excited at the prospect of being your next pastor and first lady. I'm sure you're a little curious as to the kind of person I may be, so let me share a little about myself and what you can expect from me.
My personal likes and dislikes: I like to go walking early in the morning, spending time in prayer, going out to dinner and spending quality time with my husband, I love to sing, and I love my two grandbabies.
My dislikes: Busybodies (people butting into other folks matters), dishonest people, gossipers, and people that are not real.
What I feel God is speaking to me about our next pastorate: That He is sending us to a people with singleness of heart and that are of the same mind as we. People that will think what we think, dream what we dream, and have similar if not the same goal and vision as ourselves. I believe He's sending us to a people that will be in unity with one another. We may have struggles, but for the most part I believe they will be a ready people that is ready for God and what He is doing through us.
What I'm personally looking for in our new church: People that are not only obedient, but also ready and willing to go to the next level. People that are hungry for God, and that are ready to put on sackcloth and ashes and cry out before God for the lost souls of our community.
What will I personally bring to the church: Commitment, loyalty, a spirit of prayer to stand in the gap for others and ministry in song (I love to sing sound tracks). I will give of my personal time as the Lord leads me, and I want to be a shinning example (especially to the younger women).
What the women of the church can expect of me and what I expect from them: Ladies you can expect me to lead by precept and example. We are in the service of the Lord, so therefore expect me to lead out by first serving the Lord, my husband and pastor, and you as a congregation. I will ask no more of you then I would of myself. And that is to be an example to the younger women, and the community in general. Ladies God made us to be beautiful so we should always be women of standard and principle. I would expect you to carry yourself and a respectable manner and always keep yourselves clean and neat in appearance. I will expect you to be women who are diligent and are very keen on taking care of your business.
Closing Remarks: There is a lot more I guess I could tell you about myself but time and space would not permit it. Hopefully we will meet one day and you can find out personally. These are exciting times for my husband and I and we look to the future with great anticipation. We both know that where God leads and guides, He will provide. He is faithful to perform and do all that He has promised us, so I just trust God's goodness! My husband and I continue to thank you for your faithful and prayerful consideration. May God bless you real good is my prayer!
